 Class Times

Where: 241 Auburn Rd Hawthorn 3122
When: Tuesdays 9:30am - 10:30am (Pilates), Thursday 8:30am - 9:30am (General Exercise), Friday 8:00am -9:00am (General Exercise).

Cost:   $13.00 per session to be paid up front for a term eg: 10 week term $130 MOM has a Fees guideline which I can forward to you.

 

GENERAL FITNESS CLASSES (Thursday and Friday)

MOM is an inclusive, friendly exercise program for mature women specifically tailored for those who want to be fit and healthy.  The sessions offer a range of equipment & activities. Exercises allow you to participate at varying levels, from mild to the more challenging& are undertaken  with a partner, in a group & independently. MOM caters for all levels - people starting out to the more experienced.

The classes give you a full body workout focusing on stretching & strength to build & tone muscles; agility to maintain good balance & flexibility; activities to challenge the brain & exercises to tone and raise awareness of the pelvic floor, continence & lower back pain.

We have a prime space in Hawthorn & at the Abbotsford Convent– heated in winter & cool in the summer months. Call me to talk about a free ‘come & try class’ or to find out more about the sessions – (Lisa Kendall)

I love the whole lot… stretching & testing my body ….. learning to accept some of my physical limitations at the same time as extending & building on what’s still possible…. coffee & chat afterwards – being ‘full of beans’ for the rest of the day ……

PILATES – MAT LEVEL 1 PILATES FOR WOMEN 60+

Pilates focuses on strengthening deep abdominal and pelvic floor muscles to improve posture, body awareness, breathing and an increased sense of well being.

Exercises vary from week to week and many of the movements and techniques can be easily transferred to functional daily living eg: balance, lifting & carrying, reaching, bending & getting up & down from floor or elevated surfaces.

I supply a variety of equipment adding interest and value to your Mat Pilates experience.

Sometimes taking the first step to exercise can be hard. As I entered the room Lisa welcomed meand my apprehension abated.  Lisa encourages feedback inviting us to comment on how we experience particular exercises. This helps me a lot as I need affirmation that I am working the right muscles. Encouragement from class mates has been a great help to make the transition from newcomer to being part of the group. I continue to feel the benefit of the Pilates classes.
